Abner van den Hout is an Amsterdam-based AI software engineer, founder, and data consultant who operates at the intersection of enterprise-grade systems and scrappy startup energy. Through DataGrid, his consulting and analytics firm, he has delivered data engineering, AI/ML, and strategy work for some of the Netherlands' most demanding clients — KPN, NS, PostNL, Rabobank, the Dutch Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Health. Nine specialists, 50+ projects, and a track record that spans conversion attribution models, GenAI customer solutions, and national AI policy consulting in healthcare.
Beyond the enterprise work, Abner builds products. ONEX automates the creation of secured client dossiers with AES-256 encryption and full audit logging — practical tooling that solves a real operational problem. He's also been documenting a startup journey with Passionfruit, and stays close to the frontier: his feed covers multi-agent workflows, fasthtml, and AI legal research tools like Moonlit.ai.
He co-founded Hackadam with Maurice Kleine — a monthly Amsterdam meetup for indie makers, coders, designers, and hardware hackers building real things. It runs regularly, draws 15+ builders per session, and has become a fixture in the city's builder calendar. Abner isn't just building in the ecosystem; he's helping construct it.
