Bio

Rik Weersink is an MSc student at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), pursuing a dual focus in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. His technical work centers on AI, high-tech systems, and imaging of the human body — an intersection that sits at the frontier of clinical diagnostics and engineering precision.

Beyond the coursework, Rik has built practical experience through a multi-year student placement via EuFlex Technificent, TU/e's campus-connected technical staffing service. He also served as a Calculus tutor, working directly with first-year students to translate lecture material into working understanding — planning sessions, running exercises, and delivering personal feedback.

Rik brings the same structure to sport. A competitive rower at students' association Thêta, he trained seven times a week in his freshman year before stepping into leadership as Chairman of the Talent Scouts committee — identifying promising freshman rowers and building the infrastructure for top-sport development at the club. He operates with the mindset of someone who builds systems, whether in engineering, education, or sport.
